Description: Lapis is a chipper young smeargle with an insatiable thirst for adventure. She’s taller than the average ‘mon of her species, coming in about two or three inches taller than most smeargle. Another notable characteristic she possesses are her ears which are longer than average though Lapis doesn’t seem to mind, often poking fun at them herself. The amount of water-types in Lapis’ lineage is quite evident in the young smeargle’s appearance as the ink her species is most known for has been thinned down in Lapis’ case making it much less like ink and more like watercolor paint, her fur is also a notable feature of her heritage as it’s thicker and repels water. (Samurott-Father, Simipour-Maternal Grandfather, Dewott- Paternal Grandmother, Floatzel- Paternal grandfather)

With a love of the sea that runs deep in her veins, she’s decided to take up swashbuckling and learn razor shell from her father, she’s recently acquired a scalchop: which has been securely mounted onto a hilt (the handle of a sword) which allows her a more reliable use of her razor shell move. Lapis is also found of wearing her ‘sunny shawl’ which is made of a dark red fabric and clasped with a used sunstone, it has pockets that she uses to carry various objects, so long as they fit into the tiny space.

Personality wise, Lapis is a happy-go-lucky gal who loves the ocean and all its inhabitants, she worship’s a deity called “The Lady of the Sea” who’s said to watch over all those who live or travel upon the seas which is what influenced the amount of kindness that she shows to others. She’s always trying to look out for the brighter side of things but when things and make things better for her friends. However, when things become too much for her to handle, Lapis retreats in on herself closing off to the rest of the world while she panics about not being able to help those who truly need her.

UPDATE! Now that Cass has left the team and now that she's missing an eye, Lapis is more serious under the guise of her happy-go-luckiness but she's now a more serious air about her.

History: Lapis Morgan Lazuza is the daughter of a ship captain and the great-great granddaughter of the current dock master. She was always a scrappy young thing, ready to fight off pirates and sea monsters to defend her make-believe crew and ship, she was determined to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a ship captain. However, it was soon found out that for some reason or another being out at sea at night caused Lapis’ stomach to turn in somersaults, making the poor thing seasick.

With her dreams dashed she took up working in a local tavern called, The Salty Swampert, with her mother. The proprietor of the establishment was an older feraligatr woman who was known simply as ‘Ma’, who took on a grandmotherly quality to Lapis, as she tried her best to get the smeargle to pursue her dreams of adventure, even if they weren’t at sea like she’d wanted. Lapis took the advice halfheartedly; she couldn’t join the city guilds alone and no one she knew would join with her. Until that is, the day that her father and crew came back to the port with a feverish, silver-pelted, amnesiac eevee.

Description: A lean braxien male who’s as bright as they come. Kristof enjoys… well… Kristof doesn’t enjoy most things, he’s competitive with others often trying to prove himself as the smartest ‘mon in the room, which infuriates Cass to no end. However, if you can actually manage to get this fire-type’s blunt words turned around back at him, he ends up pouting like a five-year-old.  Most of his personality is a wall that he’s built up around himself, as inwardly he feels small and insignificant, like he isn’t good enough for things. If he isn’t better, he’s nothing, without these walls he’s an invisible, a nobody. It’ll take time, or constant reassurances that he has something to contribute before he changes his ways.

History: Born into a family of “witches”, witches being a term used to describe a ‘mon who uses various motions and mental techniques to strengthen their moves, Kristof showed great promise as a witch as from an extremely young age, reading everything he could get his paws on. However, his skills resulted in a great deal of pressure put on the intelligent young fox, he was expected to be the best of the best. He was punished harshly when he didn’t perform to the standards of his kin, and found his only friends in the many books and scrolls his family had collected over the generations.

                                                     

After a series of events occurred that Kristof refuses to speak of, he escaped his family home with a number of their rare books and scrolls in tow. He ended up in the Iclyn Tunnel as an unwilling member of Verena’s gang, when he refused to partake in some of the more heinous criminal acts of the gang, the magmotar sent her cronies after him which is when Lapis intervened. Now owing the smeargle a debt after she agreed to take him onto her team, he’s currently a member of her team until further notice.

Extreme caution must be used, because males of any species will become completely enraptured by it, and will willingly follow the commands of whoever used it for a short while. This item can only be used once.

Icy Fisticuffs- A pair of padded gloves made with a incredibly strong verity of never melt ice. It seems to have gotten a lot of use, and more than likely these gloves have a proud history behind this obvious wear and tear. Invokes the move Ice Punch when used to hit other Pokemon. Can be tailored to fit individuals of different body types.

Disguise Kit- Invokes the ability Disguise. Use this kit to infiltrate the defenses of an enemy. The material can be used multiple times but takes a bit of time to assemble. Can be used once per event.

Written Test

The docks of rift city were always bursting with life, traders and sailors all slithering about to unload the cargo brought in from the sea. Among this hustle and bustle stood an odd little fox, her pelt was a bright silver that stood out on the dark wet woods under her paws. In her jaw was a rather official looking letter that had a bright red steal stamped upon it "Oi! Cassiopeia!" The eevee's pointed ears twitched at the sudden call of her name before she turned around to find the source of the call, an older samurott who was leaning over the side of a ship that towered over her.

Cassiopeia or Cass as many knew her placed her letter onto the dock putting her paw on top of it to make sure the sea breeze didn't run away with it. "Oh! Hello Mr. Gray, how are you?"

Gray laughed and stroked his beard "We're headed out ta sea for a while, it looks like it's gonna be an easy trip but ya never know when the sea spirits will decide to turn on ya! Oh and by the way, Lapis is waitin' for ya at the tavern!" A bell on the ship run out causing the older samurott to turn back to his crew and yell out some orders before turning back to Cass "I'll see ya in a week er so Cassiopeia! And while yer at the tavern tell ma wife and Lapis I love em for me will ya!?"

"Will do Mr. Gray! Hope you have a nice trip!" Cass exclaimed before taking the letter back into her mouth and dashing off toward her tavern home. The Salty Swampert always had a handful of customers within its walls, most were sailors who worked the ships at the dock, others were young men who worked the ship yard and you'd always see a young one or two who came to hear the wild tales spun by old mon about sea monsters and the such; Cass gave a soft laugh Ma, the owner of the tavern, always kept a big stock of juices for the little ones on hand so that she had something to serve them that wasn't alcoholic.

Cass walked into the tavern to see Ma at the bar cleaning glasses with a rag, Ma was a large feraligatr but had a soft gaze to most of her patrons which is where she got the nickname 'Ma'. The water-type noticed her young ward and gave a a bright, yet pointy toothed, smile "Well how you doin' ta-day Cassie? Ya rushed outta the house right quick this mornin'."

Cass took a place at the counter which took a little work seeing as how most of the stools weren't made for someone as small as her "Sorry about that Ma'am, Lapis and I have been waiting for weeks to get this letter back from the guild and-"

"And ya couldn't wait for the post to run itself. Ah know baby, Lapis and 'er Momma are takin' inventory in the back room. Head on inside and grab Lapis, tell 'er I said to take the day off."

"Oh! Thank-you very much Ma'am!" Cass exclaimed as Ma pulled back a piece of the counter which acted as a doorway to allow her through to the storage room.

"Ya welcome baby! Oh and quit callin' me ma'am, makes me feel older than Ma hehe!" The younger vixen smiled before grabbing her letter carefully once again and rushing off to the back room which wasn't all exciting.

"Well hello there Cassiopeia! How are you today?" Lapis's mother, Adeline,  was a very beautiful smeargle woman who had aged well since her youth and her eyes were as still bright as the day she'd been born and her tail's thick ink was always the loveliest shade of evergreen (Beautiful but a pain to get out of the floors.)

"Mama your gonna lose count again!" Adeline gave a bright giggle at her slightly frustrated child. Lapis was bigger than her mother by a good two or three inches, her fur was thicker and had was almost waterproof, and the most notable feature was that her tail's ink was so thin that it reminded Cass of watercolor paints which made it useless for anything but painting in that style.

"Now, now Lapis. I've only lost count once or twice-"

"It's been four times today Mama!"

"Well never mind that. What are you doing here Cassiopeia?"

"The guild wrote back to us today!" The small vixen exclaimed her tail swishing rapidly behind her in excitement.

Lapis gasped then exclaimed, in a rather loud manner, "Then what're you waitin' for open it up!" Cass opened the envelope carefully with a clawed digit before pulling out a formally written letter.


Lapis gave a squeal of delight before picking up her fluffy partner and dancing around the stock room "We got in! I can't believe we got in Cass!" Cass laughed lightly as well, Adeline just smiled brightly.

"Well you girls better head into the city to get your accessories, Ma and I'll have so baking to do later this evening. Well have little get together with the rest of the staff to celebrate, now run along we've got some work to do,"

"Come on Cass let's go!" Lapis darted for the door a bright smile on her face as she carried her partner of the tavern despite her protests and plees to be put down. Today is the start of their adventure and tomorrow is the beginning of their future.
